Pinpoint Test FA

  1. Drive car to verify condition. If odometer advances but speedometer does not indicate, replace EIC. Go to next step if speedometer does not indicate and odometer does not advance.
  2. Check operation of speed control. Go to next step if speed control works properly. If speed control does not work, service speed sensor and/or circuitry.
  3. Turn ignition off. Unplug 60-pin connector from Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and air suspension module. PCM is located at upper right of firewall, under a splash cover; air suspension module is located at left side of trunk, behind wheelwell. Remove EIC. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (EIC) R & I  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance between EIC 16-pin connector pin No. 31 (Gray/Black wire) and pin No. 4 (Pink/Orange wire) of EIC 12-pin connector. Replace EIC if resistance is 160-320 ohms. If resistance is less than 160 ohms or greater than 320 ohms, repair Gray/Black or Pink/Orange wire.
