Pinpoint Test AC
- If seat belt or ignition key chime sounds, go to next step. If chime does not sound, replace warning chime module.
- Turn ignition on. Press suspect button. If beep occurs, replace EIC. If beep does not occur, go to next step.
- Remove trim applique to expose cluster. Inspect connections from CCA switch assembly to EIC for security. If connections are okay, go to next step. If connections are not secure, tighten and recheck.
- Unplug CCA switch from EIC. Measure resistance between Orange and Yellow wires on connector with no buttons pressed. If resistance is 4000-5000 ohms, go to next step. Replace switch assembly if resistance is not 4000-5000 ohms.
- While pressing suspect button, measure resistance between Orange and Yellow wires on connector. Press only one button at a time for this test. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not within tolerance, replace CCA switch assembly. Resistance should be:
- GAUGE SELECT: 1700-2200 ohms
- MPH-KM/H: 800-1000 ohms
- SPEED ALARM: 350-480 ohms.
- Remove EIC. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (EIC) R & I under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn ignition on. Wait for seat belt chime to end. Connect jumper between harness connector pin C11 (Tan/Yellow wire) and ground. If chime sounds, replace EIC. If chime does not sound, repair open in circuit No. 183 (Tan/Yellow wire).
