Single Switch

NOTE: The switch should be positioned so that the raised portion of the switch knob is to the right while looking at the five terminals.
  1. Remove switch from vehicle. Test with a self-powered test light or ohmmeter. With switch in NEUTRAL position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1 and 2 and terminals No. 3 and 4. Terminal No. 5 should not have continuity with any other terminal. See Fig 1 . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  2. Press raised portion of rocker switch (closed position). Continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 5 and terminals No. 3 and 4. Terminal No. 2 should not have continuity with any other terminal. See Fig 1 .
  3. Press depressed portion of rocker switch (open position). Continuity should exist between terminals no. 1 and 2 and terminals No. 4 and 5. Terminal No. 3 should not have continuity with any other terminal. See Fig 1 . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If switch does not test as described, replace switch.
