Towing Precautions

  1. As a general rule, vehicles should be pulled with driving wheels off the ground.
  2. If vehicle is to be towed on its drive wheels, transmission and differential must be operable. If not, place wheels on a dolly, or disconnect drive shaft (except FWD vehicle).
  3. If ignition key is not available, place a dolly underneath driving wheels of vehicle, and tow with non-driving wheels raised. A wide-belt sling should be used to avoid damage to chrome and lower body panels.
