Throttle Valve Control: ATX
- On 2.3L CFI engine, hold throttle valve open to maintain engine speed at 1000 RPM and, at the same time, lightly press on idle speed control (ISC) motor shaft. After ISC shaft fully retracts, release throttle and quickly unplug ISC motor connector.
- On all engines, engine must be at normal operating temperature (choke fully open) and transaxle in Park. Curb idle speed must be set to specification.
- On all engines, loosen bolt on sliding trunnion block at least 1 turn. Make sure that block can slide freely on rod. See Fig 1.
- Rotate transaxle T.V. control lever upward with finger, using a force of about 1 pound to ensure that it is against internal idle stop. Hold T.V. control and tighten trunnion block bolt.
