Electronic Control System
After gathering information from coolant temperature sensor, crankshaft position sensor, and instrumented injector, an electronic control assembly varies injection timing when necessary. See Fig 1 .
To change injection timing, electronic control assembly varies cycling of fuel control solenoid (in injection pump). This solenoid changes fuel pressure available to control piston, by providing an additional pressure bleed in its open position.
Electronic control System has a built in diagnostic capability. When system malfunctions, "Check Turbo" instrument panel warning indicator will light.
