EGR Valve

  1. Remove vacuum hose from EGR valve (on top of exhaust manifold) and connect a vacuum pump. See Figure . Apply vacuum to the valve. The head of the valve should be heard to knock on the valve seat insert ring. If not, the EGR valve is should be cleaned or replaced.
