Heaters - Manual Systems: Description: Notes
FORD MOTOR CO. HEATING SYSTEM NOTE - With all Ford Motor Co. heating systems, outside air comes through an opening at the upper cowl and into the right duct of the heater assembly. The air is then directed by various doors to obtain a desired mode of operation. The door may be operated either by a cable or a vacuum motor. Temperature control of discharge air is also controlled by doors and/or valves operated by either cables or vacuum motors.
Each door or valve and the vacuum motor or cable that controls it has been given a code number in order to enable the service technician to easily identify the doors and valves as they appear on the various illustrations used in this Section. Code numbers, doors and their functions and their source of actuation are contained in a table.
