MIL Circuit [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

1. Perform troubleshooting in accordance with the table below.

CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2021 - ]

1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Turn the GTS on.
4. Check the communication between the GTS and ECM.

   HINT: 

   It can be checked using the "Engine" item of the Data List.

GO TO VC OUTPUT CIRCUIT. Refer to  VC Output Circuit [12/2021 - ]

1. Perform the Health Check using the GTS.
2. Check if any DTCs have been detected. Note down any DTCs.

   Result

   DTCs are not output	A
   Any DTCs is output	B

   HINT: 

   Check for detected DTCs output from other ECUs which relate to the MIL.

REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT

1. Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.

   HINT: 

   Disconnect the connector of the MIL that illuminated during the 1 trip.

   Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2021 - ]

2. Check the Data List when the DTC has been entered to forcefully cause the MIL to illuminate.

   Powertrain > Engine > Data List

   Other than above	-	B

   HINT: 

   • If the MIL turns on, ECM requests the combination meter to illuminate the MIL.
   • Clear the DTC after work is complete.
