DTC P00B1-62: Radiator Coolant Temperature Sensor Signal Compare Failure [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P00B1-62) 
    1. Read the DTCs and record the Freeze Frame Data.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P00B1-62 and other DTCs are output A
      P00B1-62 is output B

      HINT: 

      If any DTCs other than P00B1-62 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2021 - 10/2023]  , or Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2023 - ]

  2. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (COOLANT TEMPERATURE AND RADIATOR COOLANT TEMPERATURE) 
    1. Using the GTS, read the values displayed in the freeze frame data recorded in step 1.

      Powertrain > Engine > DTC (P00B1-62) > Freeze Frame Data 

      Tester Display
      Coolant Temperature
      Radiator Coolant Temperature
    2. Read the value displayed on the GTS.

      HINT: 

      When the engine is cold, the value of the intake air temperature, ECM internal temperature and ambient temperature should be approximately the same.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The difference between the value of Coolant Temperature and the Radiator Coolant Temperature is more than 15°C A
      None of the above conditions are met B

      HINT: 

      15°C (27°F)

    Result: 

    REPLACE NO. 2 ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2021 - ] 

    Result:

  3. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (COOLANT TEMPERATURE AND INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE) 
    1. Using the GTS, read the values displayed in the Freeze Frame Data recorded in step 1.

      Powertrain > Engine > DTC (P00B1-62) > Freeze Frame Data 

      Tester Display
      Coolant Temperature
      Intake Air Temperature B1S1
      Intake Air Temperature B2S1
    2. Read the value displayed on the GTS.

      HINT: 

      • When the engine is cold, the value of the intake air temperature, ECM internal temperature and ambient temperature should be approximately the same.
      • Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the mass air flow meter sub-assembly.

        Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2021 - ]

      The difference between the value of Coolant Temperature and the Intake Air Temperature B1S1 is more than 15°C A
      The difference between the value of Coolant Temperature and the Intake Air Temperature B2S1 is more than 15°C B
      None of the above conditions are met C

      HINT: 

      15°C (27°F)

    Result: 

    REPLACE MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY (BANK 1). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    REPLACE MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY (BANK 2). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2021 - ]
