Monitor Description

The CVT fluid temperature sensor converts the CVT fluid temperature to an electrical resistance value. Based on the resistance, the TCM determines the CVT fluid temperature and detects an open or short circuit in the CVT fluid temperature circuit.

After driving the vehicle for a certain amount of time, the CVT fluid temperature should increase. If the CVT fluid temperature remains below 20°C (68°F), the TCM interprets this as a malfunction, stores a DTC and illuminates the MIL.

When the engine coolant temperature reaches 35°C (95°F) after a cold engine start, if the CVT fluid temperature is 100°C (212°F) or more, the TCM interprets this as a malfunction, illuminates the MIL, and stores this DTC.
