Steering Pad Switch Circuit [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

    2. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA) 
    1. Disconnect the F20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the S4 forward recognition camera connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F20-6 (DIST) - S4-3 (LKSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      F20-6 (DIST) or S4-3 (LKSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Connect the S4 forward recognition camera connector.
    5. Connect the F20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK (for HV Model) A
      OK (for Gasoline Model) B
      NG C

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F20-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Connect the F20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2018 - 07/2022]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the F20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A36 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F20-2 (ECC) - A36-28 (ECCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      F20-2 (ECC) - A36-28 (ECCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Connect the A36 ECM connector.
    5. Connect the F20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2018 - 07/2022]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
