Open in Bus 5 Main Bus Line [09/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 10 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the O152 and O178 No. 10 CAN junction connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      HINT: 

      • Distinguish between the connectors connected to the No. 10 CAN junction connector by checking the color of the communication wire.
      • Before disconnecting the connectors, make a note of where it is connected.
      • Reconnect the connector to its original position.

      (to No. 10 CAN Junction Connector)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Wiring Color Condition Specified Condition Connected to
      O152-1 (CANH) - O152-2 (CANL) GR - B Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω Central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU)
      O178-1 (CANH) - O178-2 (CANL) BE - B Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 9 CAN junction connector

    REPLACE NO. 10 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU)) 
    1. Reconnect the O152 and O178 No. 10 CAN junction connectors.
    2. Disconnect the O145 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU))
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O145-15 (CA5H) - O145-16 (CA5L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN BUS LINES OR CONNECTOR (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU) - NO. 10 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 

  3. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 9 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Reconnect the O152 and O178 No. 10 CAN junction connectors.
    2. Disconnect the U57 No. 9 CAN junction connector.

      (to No. 9 CAN Junction Connector)
      *b to No. 10 CAN Junction Connector
      *c to No. 2 CAN Junction Terminal
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      U57-3 (CANH) - U57-9 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 10 CAN junction connector
      U57-4 (CANH) - U57-10 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 2 CAN junction terminal

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN BUS LINES OR CONNECTOR (NO. 9 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR - NO. 10 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR)

  4. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 2 CAN JUNCTION TERMINAL) 
    1. Reconnect the U57 No. 9 CAN junction connector.
    2. Disconnect the O102 No. 2 CAN junction terminal connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O102-3 (CANH) - O102-2 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
