Pointer does not Reach Screen Edge [09/2014 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR FOREIGN MATTER 
    1. Check if there is any foreign matter around the touchpad that interferes with operation of the screen.

      OK

      There is no foreign matter around the touchpad that interferes with operation of the screen.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REMOVE FOREIGN MATTER (CHECK OPERATION AGAIN) 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK REMOTE TOUCH SWITCH (OPERATION CHECK) 
    1. Enter the "Remote Touch Switch Check" screen. Refer to Check Remote Touch Switch in Operation Check.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - 11/2017]

    2. When the touchpad is pressed or double tapped, the "+" mark is displayed in any blank space on the screen.

      HINT: 

      • The "+" mark is displayed at the pointer position when the touchpad is pressed or double tapped.
      • Even if the pointer is moved, the "+" mark will remain at the position where the pointer was when the touchpad was pressed or double tapped.
    3. Operate the touchpad to move the pointer. When the location of the pointer is changed by operating the touchpad, check that the coordinate value "X" changes between 0 and 255 and coordinate value "Y" changes between 1 and 255.

      Result

      Remote touch switch check cannot be performed due to a touchpad malfunction. A

  3. REMOTE TOUCH SELF CHECK (TOUCHPAD OPERATION POSITION RECOGNITION CHECK) 
    1. Activate self-diagnostic mode.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - 11/2017]

    2. Check touchpad operation position recognition.

      *a Switch Illumination
      *b Touchpad
      1. Operate the touchpad diagonally from the lower left to the upper right and check that the brightness of the switch illumination changes.
        NOTE:

        Since the touchpad may recognize a pinch in/out or flick operation if operated with 2 fingers, always use 1 finger to operate the touchpad in self-diagnostic mode.

        Result

        Brightness of the switch illumination changes according to touchpad operation. A
        Brightness of the switch illumination does not change according to touchpad operation. B
        Switch illumination remains on.

        HINT: 

        If the switch illumination blinks, the remote touch (remote operation controller assembly) has stored a DTC.

  4. REPLACE REMOTE TOUCH (REMOTE OPERATION CONTROLLER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Replace the remote touch (remote operation controller assembly) with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

    2. Check that the pointer moves to the edge of the screen.

      OK

      The pointer moves to the edge of the screen.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END
