Additional Key cannot be Registered [01/2023 - ]: Procedure

1. Check for DTCs.

   Body Electrical > Smart Access > Trouble Codes 

   NOTE:

   If a malfunction occurs, do not remove/install the vehicle battery before checking for DTCs.

   OK

   DTCs are not output.

GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2014 - ]

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Data List.
5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

   Body Electrical > Smart Access > Data List

Other potential causes: An electrical key transmitter sub-assembly from a different vehicle is being used. A communication error due to wave interference. The electrical key transmitter sub-assembly or certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is malfunctioning.

1. Temporarily replace the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) with a new one and register the electrical key transmitter sub-assemblies to the new ECU.

   HINT: 

   • For replacement.

     Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

   • For registration.

     Refer to REGISTRATION [01/2023 - ]

   OK

   The key ID can be registered.
