Confirm Cellular Phone Functionality [08/2016 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CUSTOMER'S SMARTPHONE COMPATIBILITY 
    1. Check if the smartphone is compatible (Refer to http://www.lexus.com/enform/).

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Smartphone is compatible. A
      Smartphone is not compatible. B

    Result: 

    RECOMMEND COMPATIBLE SMARTPHONE

  2. CONFIRM SMARTPHONE SIGNAL 
    1. A 3G or higher connection is required for the connected navigation function to operate properly. If a 3G or higher connection is not available, it may not function properly. ("Wi-Fi" is not an approved connection for the connected navigation function.)

  3. CONFIRM THE CONNECTED NAVIGATION APP IS INSTALLED TO THE CUSTOMER'S SMARTPHONE 
    1. Turn the smartphone on.
    2. Check that the connected navigation app has been installed.

      Connected navigation app has been installed. B

  4. INSTALL CONNECTED NAVIGATION APP 
    1. Install the connected navigation app.

      Result

      Connected Navigation App was not installed successfully. B

      HINT: 

      Contact the service provider or smartphone manufacturer if assistance is required for installing the connected navigation app or resetting the customer's smartphone.

  5. CONFIRM CONNECTED NAVIGATION SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE 
    1. Start the connected navigation app on a known good smartphone.

  6. CHECK CONNECTED NAVIGATION SEARCH FUNCTION ON CUSTOMER'S SMARTPHONE 
    1. Start a search function (e.g. POI search or local search) within the connected navigation app.
    2. Check that a search can be made.
