DTC U0134: Lost Communication with DRS Module [09/2014 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. RECONFIRM DTC OUTPUT 

    Body Electrical > Gateway > Trouble Codes 

    1. Reconfirm DTCs.

      HINT: 

      If DTC U1002 is output from Gateway of the network gateway ECU, this indicates a sub bus 19 malfunction. Troubleshoot for DTC U1002 and check for malfunctions in sub bus 19.

      DTC U1002 is output from network gateway ECU (Techstream display: Gateway) B

    Result: 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTC. Refer to  DTC U1002: Lost Communication with Gateway Module [09/2014 - 11/2017]

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN SUB BUS 19 LINES (REAR STEERING CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the U1 rear steering control ECU connector.

      (to Rear Steering Control ECU)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U1-2 (CANH) - U1-3 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINES OR CONNECTOR (REAR STEERING CONTROL ECU) 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Rear Steering Control ECU)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U1-5 (GNDY) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω
    2. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Rear Steering Control ECU)

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U1-4 (PIG) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      U1-9 (IGY) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    REPLACE REAR STEERING CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]
