Precaution [10/2014 - 05/2019]
- PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
- After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2014 - 09/2016] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2016 - 09/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2017 - 05/2019]
- When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal while performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2014 - 09/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2017 - 05/2019]
- After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
- PRECAUTIONS WHEN CHECKING FOR DTCS
- When the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, the DTCs stored in the steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly) are cleared. Be sure to record any output DTCs immediately.
- When using the Techstream with the power switch off, connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the Techstream and the vehicle begins. Then select the vehicle type under manual mode and enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access. While using the Techstream, periodically turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less to maintain communication between the Techstream and the vehicle.
- PRECAUTIONS WHEN REPLACING STEERING LOCK ECU (STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)
- If the steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly) is replaced, be sure to confirm that the steering is unlocked by turning the steering wheel to the left and right before starting the hybrid control system. If the steering is locked for any reason, open and close a door with the power switch off, and then unlock the steering lock by pressing the power switch. This prevents the hybrid control system from starting while the steering is locked.
- PRECAUTION FOR REGISTRATION
- If replacing any of the following parts, refer to theregistration procedures.
Refer to REGISTRATION [10/2014 - 05/2019]
- Certification ECU (Smart key ECU assembly)
- Steering lock ECU (Steering lock actuator assembly)
- Electrical key transmitter sub-assembly
- ID code box (Immobiliser code ECU)
- Main body ECU (Multiplex network body ECU)
- Hybrid vehicle control ECU
- If replacing any of the following parts, refer to theregistration procedures.
- PRECAUTIONS FOR STEERING LOCK / UNLOCK FUNCTION
- After turning the power switch off and opening and closing any of the doors, the steering wheel will be locked due to the steering lock function. Operating the power switch again automatically cancels the steering lock function.
- To prevent the steering lock motor from overheating, the motor operation may be suspended if the steering is locked and unlocked repeatedly in a short period of time. In this case, refrain from operating the power switch. After about 10 seconds, the steering lock motor will resume functioning.
