WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 Lexus LS 500h, 2023 Lexus LS 500h, and 2022 Lexus LS 500h. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. ETHERNET COMMUNICATION SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING
    1. If a DTC from the Ethernet communication system is output, always perform troubleshooting from "How to Proceed with Troubleshooting".

Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - 10/2023] , or refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2023 - ]

    2. Check that there is no damage such as tears on the Ethernet communication line cover before performing an inspection. If there is damage such as tears on the Ethernet communication line cover, normal communication may become impossible due to noise.

Precautions when disconnecting/connecting the switching hub inner housings

      1. When disconnecting switching hub terminals to perform an inspection, indicate the connecting positions by using tape or label.
        NOTE:

Make sure to connect the disconnected inner housings to the correct connecting positions. If they are not returned to the normal condition after performing an inspection, vehicle functions will not operate normally.

        HINT:

Refer to the terminals of ECU for the connectors of each switching hub inner housing.

Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [11/2021 - ]

      2. Push up the lock inside the connector and pull out the inner housing toward the connector rear.

      2. Use a dedicated harness for Ethernet communication line to bypass the wiring for the repaired location.
        NOTE:
        • Make sure to bypass the wiring between connectors.
        • Do not use a general-purpose repair wire to bypass the wiring. Always use a dedicated harness for Ethernet communication line.
        • When repairing a bypass, make sure to use a dedicated harness for Ethernet communication line so that there are 2 or less extension connectors between the ECUs.
