Removal [12/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  3. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  4. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - ] 

  6. REMOVE CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly RH connector.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and cam timing oil control solenoid assembly RH from the No. 2 timing gear cover assembly.
      NOTE:

      If the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly RH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly RH.
      NOTE:
      • When removing the O-ring, be careful not to damage the O-ring groove of the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly RH.
      • If the O-ring groove of the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly RH is damaged, replace the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly RH with a new one.

      HINT: 

      Perform this procedure only when replacement of the O-ring is necessary.
