Installation [12/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL REAR STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Align the 2 guide pins with the rear suspension member sub-assembly and install the rear steering link assembly with the 4 bolts.

      *a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length

      Bolt A 

      Torque: 97 N.m (989 kgf/cm, 72 ft.lbf) 

      HINT: 

      Temporarily tighten the bolt B.

    2. Using a ball joint lock nut wrench, fully tighten the bolt B.

      Specified tightening torque 

      Torque: 97 N.m (989 kgf/cm, 72 ft.lbf) 

      HINT: 

      • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - 10/2020]

      • When using a ball joint lock nut wrench (fulcrum length of 150 mm (5.906 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 255 mm (10.039 in.)): 61.1 N.m (623 kgf/cm, 45 ft.lbf)
    3. Engage the wire harness clamp and install the grommet.
    4. Install the nut.

      Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf/cm, 48 in.lbf) 

    5. Connect the 2 connectors to the rear steering control ECU.

      HINT: 

      When connecting the connector with lock lever, return the lock lever to its original position and securely push in the lock of the lock lever as shown in the illustration.

      *a Lock of the Lock Lever
      *b Lock Lever
    6. Engage the clamp.
  2. INSTALL EXHAUST TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2017 - ]

  3. CONNECT REAR STEERING TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the rear steering tie rod assembly LH to the rear axle carrier sub-assembly with a new nut.

      Torque: 118 N.m (1203 kgf/cm, 87 ft.lbf) 

    2. Connect the skid control sensor wire LH to the rear steering tie rod assembly LH with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf/cm, 75 in.lbf) 

  4. CONNECT REAR STEERING TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL REAR WHEELS 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2017 - 10/2023]

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  7. INSTALL BATTERY CARRIER CATCH BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  8. INSTALL LOWER INNER LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  9. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  10. INSTALL TOOL BOX 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  12. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  13. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  14. PERFORM DYNAMIC REAR STEERING SYSTEM CALIBRATION 

    Refer to CALIBRATION [12/2017 - 10/2023]
