Installation [10/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL REAR STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Align the 2 guide pins with the rear suspension member sub-assembly and install the rear steering link assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Bolt A 

      Torque: 97 N.m (989 kgf/cm, 72 ft.lbf) 

      HINT: 

      Temporarily tighten the bolt B.

      *a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length
    2. Using SST, tighten 2 bolts (B).
      • SST: 09729-00170 

      Specified tightening torque 

      Torque: 97 N.m (989 kgf/cm, 72 ft.lbf) 

      HINT: 

      • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2023 - ]

      • When using SST (fulcrum length of 200 mm (7.874 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 400 mm (15.748 in.)): 64.7 N.m (660 kgf/cm, 48 ft.lbf)
    3. Engage the wire harness clamp and install the grommet.

    4. Install the nut.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf)

      Engage the clamp.

    6. Connect the 2 connectors
  2. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR STEERING TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Temporarily install the rear steering tie rod assembly LH to the rear axle carrier sub-assembly with a new nut.

      Torque: 118 N.m (1203 kgf/cm, 87 ft.lbf)

    2. Connect the skid control sensor wire LH to the rear steering tie rod assembly LH with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf/cm, 75 in.lbf) 

  3. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR STEERING TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  4. INSTALL EXHAUST TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2017 - ]

  5. INSTALL BATTERY CARRIER CATCH BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the battery carrier catch bracket sub-assembly to the luggage room panel with the 4 nuts.

      Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf/cm, 75 in.lbf) 

  6. INSTALL LOWER INNER LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  7. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  8. INSTALL TOOL BOX 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  10. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  11. ECU CONFIGURATION 
    1. If the rear steering link assembly is replaced, perform ECU software writing.

      Refer to ECU CONFIGURATION [10/2023 - ]

  12. CHECK BATTERY CONDITION 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  13. ADJUST REAR TOE 

    Refer to UTILITY [10/2023 - ]

  14. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR STEERING TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Fully tighten the rear steering tie rod assembly LH.

      Torque: 118 N.m (1203 kgf/cm, 87 ft.lbf)

  15. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR STEERING TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  16. INSTALL REAR WHEELS 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2023 - ]

  17. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2023 - ]

  18. INSTALL NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  19. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2023 - ]

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.
