DTC P0505-00: Idle Control System [12/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
5. Read the DTCs.

   Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

   Result

   Result	Proceed to
   DTC P0505-00 is output	A
   DTC P0505-00 and other DTCs are output	B

   HINT: 

   If any DTCs other than P0505-00 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

Result: 

B 

GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2018 - 09/2019]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2019 - 10/2020]

1. Check the PCV hose connections.
2. Check the PCV valve.

1. Check the throttle body with motor assembly condition.

   OK

   Throttle valve is not contaminated with foreign matter and moves smoothly.

   HINT: 

   • When cleaning or replacing one throttle body with motor assembly, clean the other throttle body with motor assembly.

     Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

   • Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the throttle body with motor assembly.

     Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2017 - 10/2020]

REPLACE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - ]

4. Clear the DTCs.
