Headlight Cleaner Motor and Relay Circuit [12/2017 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2020 - 10/2023]

      Body Electrical > AFS (Sub) > Active Test

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2020 - 10/2023]

      Body Electrical > AFS (Sub) > Data List

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]

    REPLACE STEERING SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022] 

  3. CHECK HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the A headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly connector.
    2. Inspect the headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [12/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY (H-LP CLN) 
    1. Remove the headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) from No. 2 engine room relay block.
    2. Inspect the headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN).

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [12/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [10/2020 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY (H-LP CLN) 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. INSPECT WASHER WIRING ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the washer wiring assembly.

      *a Wire Harness Side
      *b Headlight Cleaner Motor and Pump Assembly Side
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A60-2 - A-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      A60-1 - A-1 Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE WASHER WIRING ASSEMBLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WASHER WIRING ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY [H-LP CLN] AND BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the A60 washer wiring assembly connector.
    2. Remove the headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) from No. 2 engine room relay block.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A60-1 - Headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) terminal 3 Always Below 1 Ω
      A60-1 or Headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) terminal 3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A60-2 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY [H-LP CLN] - HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH, BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Remove the headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) from No. 2 engine room relay block.
    2. Disconnect the A32 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) terminal 2 - A32-7 (HLC) Always Below 1 Ω
      Headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) terminal 5 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) terminal 2 or A32-7 (HLC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      Headlight cleaner control relay (H-LP CLN) terminal 1 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Engine switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
