DTC B1372: Wiper Switch Signal Mismatch between LIN and Line [12/2017 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2017 - 10/2023]

      Body Electrical > Wiper > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for at least 10 seconds.
    3. Check for DTC.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2017 - 10/2023]

      Body Electrical > Wiper > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B1372 is not output

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2020 - 11/2021]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2022 - 10/2023] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2020 - 10/2023]

    REPLACE STEERING SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY HI SIGNAL INPUT) 
    1. Disconnect the A43 windshield wiper motor assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A43-3 (2S) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG), HI operating Below 1 V
      Windshield wiper motor assembly stopped 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING SENSOR - WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G29*1 or G30*2 steering sensor connector.
      1. *1: w/ VGRS System
      2. *2: w/o VGRS System
    2. Disconnect the A43 windshield wiper motor assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      W/ VGRS SYSTEM

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G29-2 (2S) - A43-3 (2S) Always Below 1 Ω
      G29-2 (2S) or A43-3 (2S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W/O VGRS SYSTEM

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G30-2 (2S) - A43-3 (2S) Always Below 1 Ω
      G30-2 (2S) or A43-3 (2S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE STEERING SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
