DTC C1711: Front Height Control Sensor RH Circuit Malfunction; DTC C1712: Front Height Control Sensor LH Circuit Malfunction; DTC C1713: Rear Height Control Sensor RH Circuit Malfunction; DTC C1714: Rear Height Control Sensor LH Circuit Malfunction [01/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION CONDITION 
    1. Check the height control sensor sub-assembly installation condition and make sure that there are no loose installation bolts and foreign matter trapped between the sensor and body.

      OK

      Installed correctly.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY CORRECTLY 

    For Front Side : Refer to INSTALLATION [01/2017 - 05/2023] , or refer to INSTALLATION [05/2023 - ]

    For Rear Side : Refer to INSTALLATION [01/2017 - 05/2023] , or refer to INSTALLATION [05/2023 - ]

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the height control sensor sub-assembly condition and make sure that there is no link deformation.

      OK

      No deformation.

      Result

    REPLACE REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2017 - 05/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [05/2023 - ]

    REPLACE REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2017 - 05/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [05/2023 - ]

  3. INSPECT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (FRONT OR REAR) 
    1. For Front Side.
      1. Turn the power switch off.
      2. Remove the front height control sensor sub-assembly RH or front height control sensor sub-assembly LH.

        Refer to REMOVAL [01/2017 - 05/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [05/2023 - ]

      3. Inspect the front height control sensor sub-assembly RH or front height control sensor sub-assembly LH.

        Refer to INSPECTION [01/2017 - ]

    2. For Rear Side.
      1. Turn the power switch off.
      2. Remove the rear height control sensor sub-assembly RH or rear height control sensor sub-assembly LH.

        Refer to REMOVAL [01/2017 - 05/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [05/2023 - ]

      3. Inspect the rear height control sensor sub-assembly RH or rear height control sensor sub-assembly LH.

        Refer to INSPECTION [01/2017 - ]

      Result

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY - ABSORBER CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Check the front height control sensor sub-assembly RH harness and connector.
      1. Turn the power switch off.
      2. Disconnect the A35 front height control sensor sub-assembly RH connector.
      3. Disconnect the X39 absorber control ECU connector.
      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A35-1 (SHG) - X39-11 (SHG1) Always Below 1 Ω
        A35-2 (SHFR) - X39-12 (SHFR)
        A35-3 (SHB) - X39-10 (SHB1)
        A35-1 (SHG) or X39-11 (SHG1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        A35-2 (SHFR) or X39-12 (SHFR) - Body ground
        A35-3 (SHB) or X39-10 (SHB1) - Body ground
    2. Check the front height control sensor sub-assembly LH harness and connector.
      1. Turn the power switch off.
      2. Disconnect the A34 front height control sensor sub-assembly LH connector.
      3. Disconnect the X39 absorber control ECU connector.
      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A34-1 (SHG) - X39-21 (SHG2) Always Below 1 Ω
        A34-2 (SHFL) - X39-20 (SHFL)
        A34-3 (SHB) - X39-9 (SHB2)
        A34-1 (SHG) or X39-21 (SHG2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        A34-2 (SHFL) or X39-20 (SHFL) - Body ground
        A34-3 (SHB) or X39-9 (SHB2) - Body ground

    REPLACE ABSORBER CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [01/2017 - 05/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [05/2023 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

  5. INSPECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the X121 or tX2 skid control sensor wire connector.
    3. Disconnect the z37 or t3 skid control sensor wire connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY - ABSORBER CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Check the rear height control sensor sub-assembly RH harness and connector.
      1. Turn the power switch off.
      2. Disconnect the X22 absorber control ECU connector.
      3. Connect the X121 skid control sensor wire RH connector.
      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        z37-1 (SHG) - X22-10 (SHG3) Always Below 1 Ω
        z37-2 (SHRR) - X22-11 (SHRR)
        z37-3 (SHB) - X22-12 (SHB3)
        z37-1 (SHG) or X22-10 (SHG3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        z37-2 (SHRR) or X22-11 (SHRR) - Body ground
        z37-3 (SHB) or X22-12 (SHB3) - Body ground
    2. Check the rear height control sensor sub-assembly LH harness and connector.
      1. Turn the power switch off.
      2. Disconnect the X22 absorber control ECU connector.
      3. Connect the tX2 skid control sensor wire LH connector.
      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        t3-1 (SHG) - X22-22 (SHG4) Always Below 1 Ω
        t3-2 (SHRL) - X22-21 (SHRL)
        t3-3 (SHB) - X22-13 (SHB4)
        t3-1 (SHG) or X22-22 (SHG4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        t3-2 (SHRL) or X22-21 (SHRL) - Body ground
        t3-3 (SHB) or X22-13 (SHB4) - Body ground
