Mute Signal Circuit between Radio Receiver and Stereo Component Amplifier [08/2015 - 08/2021]: Procedure

  1. CHECK STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H22-1 (MUTE) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC)
      Audio system playing → audio system changing modes
      2.0 V or higher → Below 1 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Stereo Component Amplifier Assembly)

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2019 - 08/2021] )

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H3 multi-media module receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the H22 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H3-16 (MUT1) - H22-1 (MUTE) Always Below 1 Ω
      H3-16 (MUT1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY (OUTPUT SIGNAL) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H3-16 (MUT1) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC)
      Audio system playing
      2.0 V or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Multi-media Module Receiver Assembly)

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2021] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
