DTC B278A: Short to GND in Immobiliser System Power Source Circuit [08/2020 - ]: Procedure

1. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.

   Measurement Condition

   Tester Connection	Condition	Tool Setting	Specified Condition
   G48-10 (VC5) - G48-6 (AGND)	Engine switch off, electrical key transmitter sub-assembly not in cabin, within 30 seconds of engine switch pressed	2 V/DIV., 200 ms./DIV.	Pulse generation (See waveform)

   OK

   The waveform is similar to that shown in the illustration.

REPLACE ENGINE SWITCH 

For 2GR-FKS: Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - ]

For A25A-FKS: Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - ]

Result: 

NG 

See step  2

1. Disconnect the G47 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
2. Disconnect the G48 engine switch connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   G47-7 (VC5) - G48-10 (VC5)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   G47-11 (AGND) - G48-6 (AGND)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   G47-7 (VC5) or G48-10 (VC5) - Other terminals and body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   G47-11 (AGND) or G48-6 (AGND) - Other terminals and body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK

3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
