DTC P0710-00: Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance [10/2019 - 07/2022]: Description

The CVT fluid temperature sensor converts the fluid temperature into a resistance value which is detected by the TCM.

The sensor resistance changes with the CVT fluid temperature. As the temperature rises, the sensor resistance decreases. The TCM applies voltage to the temperature sensor through TCM terminal THO1 and calculates the fluid temperature based on the voltage signal.

HINT:

The CVT fluid temperature is likely to increase under conditions such as towing, climbing hills and in traffic.

DTC No. Detection Item DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area MIL Memory Note
P071000 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance Either of the following conditions is met (2-trip detection logic):
  • The intake air and engine coolant temperatures were more than -10°C (14°F) at engine start, and the CVT fluid temperature is less than 20°C (68°F) for 3 seconds when the vehicle has been driven for over 18 minutes and 7 km (4.3 miles).
  • The engine coolant temperature was less than 35°C (95°F) at engine start, and the CVT fluid temperature is 100°C (212°F) or more for 10 seconds.
  • CVT fluid level
  • Transmission wire (CVT fluid temperature sensor)
Comes on DTC stored SAE Code:
