Removal [11/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  2. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2017 - ] 

  3. REMOVE INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  4. SET NO. 1 CYLINDER TO TDC/COMPRESSION 
    1. Turn the crankshaft clockwise to align the timing mark (cutout) on the crankshaft pulley with the "0" timing mark on the timing chain cover assembly.

    2. Check that the protrusion on the inside of the camshaft timing gear assembly is at the top.

      *a Protrusion

      HINT: 

      If the protrusion is not at the top, rotate the crankshaft clockwise 360° and align the timing marks again.

  5. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING GEAR BOLT 
    1. Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley.
      • SST: 09213-54015 
        1. 91651-60855
      • SST: 09330-00021

    2. Remove the camshaft timing gear bolt.

      NOTE:

      If the camshaft timing gear bolt has been struck or dropped, replace it.
