Check For Intermittent Problems [10/2018 - 07/2022]

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Lexus UX 200, 2021 Lexus UX 200, 2020 Lexus UX 200, and 2019 Lexus UX 200. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

HINT:

Troubleshoot malfunctions with the TCM in check mode. Intermittent problems are easier to detect with the Techstream when the TCM is in check mode. In check mode, the TCM uses 1-trip detection logic, which is more sensitive to malfunctions than normal mode (default), which uses 2-trip detection logic.

  1. Clear the DTCs.

    Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2018 - 07/2022]

  2. Switch the TCM from normal mode to check mode using the Techstream.

Refer to CHECK MODE PROCEDURE [10/2018 - 07/2022]

  3. Perform a simulation test.

Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2018 - ]

  4. Check and wiggle the harnesses, connectors and terminals.

Refer to ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE [10/2018 - ]
