DTC P2182-11: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Short to Ground [12/2017 - ]: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CHECK FOR SHORT IN WIRE HARNESS)
*1 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (for Cylinder Head Side) *2 ECM - Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (for cylinder head side) connector.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Coolant Temperature Sensor2.
Powertrain > Engine > Data List
Tester Display Coolant Temperature Sensor2 - According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

Techstream Display Specified Condition Coolant Temperature Sensor2 -40°C (-40°F) HINT:
Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the engine coolant temperature sensor (for cylinder head side).
Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2020 - 10/2023] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2023 - ]

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (FOR CYLINDER HEAD SIDE) - ECM)
- Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (for cylinder head side) connector.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D20-2 (THW2) or D1-87 (THW2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher Result
