Steering Pad Switch Circuit [09/2020 - ]: Procedure

1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

   Refer to REMOVAL [10/2016 - ]

2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

   Refer to INSPECTION [09/2020 - ]

   Result

REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2016 - ]

OK

1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.

   Refer to REMOVAL [10/2016 - ]

2. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

   Refer to INSPECTION [10/2016 - ]

   Result

   Proceed to

REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2016 - ]

1. Disconnect the K172 radio receiver assembly connector.
2. Disconnect the K26 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   K172-21 (SW1) - K26-6 (AU1)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   K172-22 (SW2) - K26-5 (AU2)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   K172-24 (SWG) - K26-3 (EAU)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   K172-21 (SW1) or K26-6 (AU1) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   K172-22 (SW2) or K26-5 (AU2) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   K172-24 (SWG) or K26-3 (EAU) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result
