DTC C1AAE: Heater Circuit [10/2016 - 09/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTCs (FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2016 - 09/2020]

      Chassis > Front Recognition Camera > Clear DTCs 

    2. Perform the following procedure.

      HINT: 

      If the following procedure is not performed, the previously output DTC cannot be detected.

      1. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait 7 seconds or more.
    3. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2016 - 09/2020]

      Chassis > Front Recognition Camera > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1AAE is not output A
      DTC C1AAE is output B

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2016 - 10/2017]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2017 - 09/2020] 

    Result:

  2. INSPECT FORWARD RECOGNITION WITH HEATER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Disconnect the S19 forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Forward Recognition with Heater Hood Sub-assembly)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S19-1 (IG1) - S19-2 (HTR) Engine switch off 38 to 42 Ω
    4. Connect the S19 forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FORWARD RECOGNITION WITH HEATER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2016 - 09/2020] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE VOLTAGE) 
    1. Disconnect the S19 forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Forward Recognition with Heater Hood Sub-assembly)
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S19-1 (IG1) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Engine switch off Below 1.5 V
    3. Connect the S19 forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FORWARD RECOGNITION WITH HEATER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY - FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA) 
    1. Disconnect the S19 forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the S18 forward recognition camera connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S19-2 (HTR) - S18-1 (HTR) Always Below 1 Ω
      S19-2 (HTR) or S18-1 (HTR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Connect the S18 forward recognition camera connector.
    5. Connect the S19 forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2016 - 09/2020] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (FORWARD RECOGNITION WITH HEATER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY - FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA)
