Open in Bus 5 Main Bus Line [09/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 9 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the K142 and K206 No. 9 CAN junction connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      HINT: 

      • Distinguish between the connectors connected to the No. 9 CAN junction connector by checking the color of the communication wire.
      • Before disconnecting the connectors, make a note of where it is connected.
      • Reconnect the connector to its original position.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Wiring Color Condition Specified Condition Connected to
      K142-1 (CANH) - K142-2 (CANL) GR - B Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω Central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU)
      K206-1 (CANH) - K206-2 (CANL) BE - B Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 13 CAN junction connector

    REPLACE NO. 9 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU)) 
    1. Reconnect the K142 and K206 No. 9 CAN junction connectors.
    2. Disconnect the K141 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.

      (to Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU))
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K141-15 (CA5H) - K141-16 (CA5L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN BUS LINES OR CONNECTOR (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU) - NO. 9 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 

  3. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 13 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Reconnect the K142 and K206 No. 9 CAN junction connectors.
    2. Disconnect the Q68 No. 13 CAN junction connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to No. 13 CAN Junction Connector)
      *b to No. 9 CAN Junction Connector
      *c to No. 2 CAN Junction Terminal
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Q68-3 (CANH) - Q68-9 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 9 CAN junction connector
      Q68-4 (CANH) - Q68-10 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 2 CAN junction terminal

  4. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 2 CAN JUNCTION TERMINAL) 
    1. Reconnect the Q68 No. 13 CAN junction connector.
    2. Disconnect the K107 No. 2 CAN junction terminal connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K107-3 (CANH) - K107-2 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
