Installation [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL STEERING SLIDING YOKE WITH SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the steering sliding yoke with shaft sub-assembly to the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.

      NOTE:

      Align the matchmarks on the steering sliding yoke with shaft sub-assembly and No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.

    2. Temporarily install the bolt.
  2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  3. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the steering sliding yoke with shaft sub-assembly with No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly to the power steering link assembly.

      NOTE:

      Align the matchmarks on the steering sliding yoke with shaft sub-assembly and power steering link assembly.

    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35.3 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Tighten the clamp.
  4. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the steering column assembly to the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.

      NOTE:

      Align the matchmarks on the steering column assembly and No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.

    2. Install the steering column assembly with the 4 nuts.

      Torque: 25.5 N*m (260 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35.3 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Install the brake pedal return spring to the push rod pin and steering column assembly.
    5. Connect each connector and engage each wire harness clamp to the steering column assembly.
    6. Fully tighten the bolt.

      Torque: 35.3 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

  5. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 69 [10/2015 - 09/2017], or Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 69 [09/2017 - ]

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No. 1 air duct sub-assembly with the clip.
  7. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2015 - ]

  8. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).
    • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly installed, with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).
    • Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.
    1. Engage the claws to install the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly to the steering column assembly.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Connect each connector to the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.
  9. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER 
    1. Engage the claw and guides to install the steering column cover (upper).

      Install in this Direction
    2. Engage the clips and guides to install the meter hood spacer to the steering column cover (upper).

      Install in this Direction
    3. Engage the guides and claws to install the steering column cover (lower).

      Install in this Direction
    4. Install the 3 screws.
  10. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  11. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [10/2015 - 09/2017], or Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [09/2017 - ]

  12. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    See step  9 [10/2015 - 09/2017], or See step  8 [09/2017 - ]

  13. CHECK STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT 
  14. INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2015 - ]

  15. CUSTOMIZE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM 
    1. Reset the auto tilt away function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter.

      Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [10/2015 - ]

  16. ADJUST PARKING ASSIST MONITOR SYSTEM 

    Refer to CALIBRATION [10/2015 - ]
