Distance Control Switch Circuit [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DISTANCE CONTROL SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise > Data List

      Distance Control Switch Distance control switch signal ON or OFF ON: Distance control switch on
      OFF: Distance control switch off

      The Data List item shown in the table changes according to the operation of the steering pad switch assembly (distance control switch).

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2015 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2017 - ]

  2. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - 09/2017] , or refer to INSPECTION [09/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

    2. Inspect the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - 09/2017] , or refer to INSPECTION [09/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the K26 spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the K4 driving support ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K26-12 (DIST) - K4-23 (SPSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      K26-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      K26-12 (DIST) or K4-23 (SPSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
