Removal [08/2016 - 12/2017]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

- DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2015 - 12/2017]
- REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY
Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]
- REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER
Refer to REMOVAL [08/2016 - 03/2018]
- DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE
- DISCONNECT PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV)
- REMOVE NO. 2 SURGE TANK STAY
- REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY
- Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps and disconnect the E.F.I. vacuum sensor assembly (manifold absolute pressure sensor) connector.
- Remove the bolt and disconnect the water hose clamp from the intake air surge tank assembly.
- Remove the 5 bolts and 2 nuts and separate the intake air surge tank assembly from the intake manifold.
Bolt Nut - Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts from the intake manifold.
- Remove the intake air surge tank assembly as shown in the illustration.
- Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps and disconnect the E.F.I. vacuum sensor assembly (manifold absolute pressure sensor) connector.
- REMOVE AIR SURGE TANK TO INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET
- REMOVE NO. 1 V-BANK COVER BRACKET
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of a No. 1 V-bank cover bracket is necessary.
- REMOVE E.F.I. VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR)
- SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the brake master cylinder reservoir assembly connector and air conditioner pressure sensor connector.
*a Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Assembly Connector *b Air Conditioner Pressure Sensor Connector - Disengage the 2 clamps to separate the wire harness from the brake master cylinder reservoir assembly.
- Remove the 2 nuts and separate the brake master cylinder reservoir assembly.
- Disconnect the brake master cylinder reservoir assembly connector and air conditioner pressure sensor connector.
- REMOVE RESERVOIR BRACKET
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13
- REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH
- Disengage the wire harness clamp from the wire harness clamp bracket.
*a Fuel Tube Sub-assembly Connector *b EGR Valve Assembly Connector - Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly connector.
- Disconnect the EGR valve assembly connector.
- Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness clamp bracket from the No. 2 engine mounting stay RH.
Bolt Nut Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and No. 2 engine mounting stay RH from the engine mounting insulator sub-assembly RH.
Remove the bolt and No. 2 engine mounting stay RH from the intake manifold.
- Disengage the wire harness clamp from the wire harness clamp bracket.
- REMOVE NO. 2 EGR PIPE
- REMOVE NO. 2 EGR PIPE GASKET
- DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE NO. 1 DELIVERY PIPE SPACER

- REMOVE INJECTOR VIBRATION INSULATOR
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10
- REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD
- REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET NO. 1
- REMOVE STUD BOLT
HINT:
If a stud bolt is deformed or the threads are damaged, replace it.
