Washer Fluid Level Warning Switch Circuit [12/2017 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2020 - 10/2023]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Washer Level Warning Switch Level warning switch assembly state ON or OFF ON: Washer fluid level low
      OFF: Washer fluid level not low

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Washer Level Warning Switch

      OK

      The Techstream display changes correctly in response to the washer fluid level.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2023] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK LEVEL WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the A level warning switch assembly connector.
    2. Inspect the level warning switch assembly.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [12/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE LEVEL WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT WASHER WIRING ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the washer wiring assembly.

      *a Wire Harness Side
      *b Level Warning Switch Assembly Side
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A17-4 (S) - A-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      A17-3 (E) - A-2 Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE WASHER WIRING ASSEMBLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WASHER WIRING ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A17 washer wiring assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G34 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A17-4 (S) - G34-16 (WLVL) Always Below 1 Ω
      A17-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      A17-4 (S) or G34-16 (WLVL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2023] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
