Steering Pad Switch Circuit [12/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2017 - 10/2023]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. INSPECT SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]

    2. Inspect the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G52 radio receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G27 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G52-21 (SW1) - G27-12 (AU1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G52-22 (SW2) - G27-5 (AU2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G52-24 (SWG) - G27-4 (EAU) Always Below 1 Ω
      G52-21 (SW1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G52-22 (SW2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2018 - 10/2020]
