DTC P0106: Manifold Absolute Pressure Circuit Problem [10/2015 - 07/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0106) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
    5. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P0106 is output A
      DTC P0106 and other DTCs are output B

      HINT: 

      If any DTCs other than P0106 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

    Result: 

    B 

    GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2015 - 08/2016]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2016 - 12/2017]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2017 - 03/2018]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [03/2018 - 08/2018]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2018 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2019 - 07/2020] 

    Result:

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MAP) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / MAP.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Data List 

      Tester Display
      MAP
    5. Read the MAP value.
    6. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode).

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Inspection Mode
    7. Start the engine.
    8. Read the MAP value at idling.

      Standard

      Engine Condition Techstream Display
      Power switch on (IG) 80 to 110 kPa (12 to 16 psi)
      Idling 20 to 40 kPa (3 to 6 psi)

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [10/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK INTAKE SYSTEM 
    1. Check the intake system for vacuum leaks.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

      OK

      No leaks in intake system.

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after repairing or replacing the intake system.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] 

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE INTAKE SYSTEM
