Operation Check [11/2017 - ]

  1. INSPECT ASC SYSTEM OPERATION 
    WARNING:

    Check for safety before performing any tests.

    HINT: 

    If the drive mode is changed to a mode other than NORMAL, SPORT S, SPORT S+ or CUSTOM* while the ASC system is operating, the dynamic engine sounds will stop.

    *: Additional engine sounds are generated when CUSTOM mode is set to Power on the Drive Mode Customization screen of the multi-display.

    [Setup] → [Vehicle] → [Drive Mode Customization] → [Powertrain] → [Power]

    Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [11/2017 - ]

    1. Check additional engine sounds generation (except CUSTOM mode)
      1. Start the engine.
      2. Turn the vehicle sound switch on.
      3. Select NORMAL, SPORT S or SPORT S+ mode.
      4. Move the shift lever to D or M. When the vehicle speed is 6 km/h (4 mph) or more and the engine speed is 980 rpm or more, check that additional engine sounds are generated in accordance with the engine speed.

        HINT: 

        Check that the sound changes when the drive mode is changed from a mode other than ECO (non-operating condition), NORMAL (operating condition), SPORT S (operating condition) or SPORT S+ (operating condition).

    2. Check additional engine sounds generation (CUSTOM mode)
      1. Start the engine.
      2. Turn the vehicle sound switch on.
      3. Check that CUSTOM mode has been set to Power on the Drive Mode Customization screen of the multi-display.

      4. Select CUSTOM mode.
      5. Move the shift lever to D or M. When the vehicle speed is 6 km/h (4 mph) or more and the engine speed is 980 rpm or more, check that additional engine sounds are generated in accordance with the engine speed.

        HINT: 

        Check that the sound changes when the drive mode is changed from a mode other than ECO (non-operating condition) or CUSTOM (operating condition).

    3. Check intake flow noise generation
      1. Start the engine.
      2. Turn the vehicle sound switch on.
      3. Select SPORT S+ mode.
      4. Move the shift lever to P or N.
      5. Apply the parking brake and secure the wheels with wheel chocks.
      6. With the accelerator pedal opening angle below 10%, increase the accelerator pedal opening angle to between 15% and 70% and keep it within that range.
      7. With the accelerator pedal opening angle between 15% and 70%, increase the accelerator pedal opening angle by 15% or more in 0.01 seconds and check that intake flow noise is generated.

        HINT: 

        • Check that the sound changes when the drive mode is changed from a mode other than ECO (non-operating condition), NORMAL (non-operating condition), SPORT S (operating condition) or SPORT S+ (operating condition).
        • To generate noise again, decrease the accelerator pedal opening angle to below 10%.
    4. Check exhaust pulsation sound generation
      1. Start the engine.
      2. Turn the vehicle sound switch on.
      3. Select SPORT S+ mode.
      4. With the shift lever in D or M, drive the vehicle at 75 km/h (47 mph) or more.
      5. Check the exhaust pulsation sound when dropping the accelerator position from 80% or more to 0% within 0.18 seconds and the gear position is in 3rd gear or lower.

        HINT: 

        Check that the sound changes when the drive mode is changed from a mode other than ECO (non-operating condition), NORMAL (non-operating condition), SPORT S (non-operating condition) or SPORT S+ (operating condition).
