4WD Control ECU Communication Stop Mode [11/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (4WD ECU ASSEMBLY BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the A54 4WD ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A54-6 (CANH) - A54-5 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      Result

      Result
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINES OR CONNECTOR (4WD ECU ASSEMBLY) 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A54-4 (GND) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω

      (to 4WD ECU Assembly)
    2. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A54-3 (IG1) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Result 
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE 4WD ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)
