DTC C1297/97: Steering Angle Sensor [09/2014 - 09/2020]: Procedure
- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Clear the DTCs.
Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2014 - 11/2017] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2017 - 09/2020]
Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Clear DTCs
- Turn the engine switch on (IG) and check that no CAN communication system DTCs are output.
Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [10/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2016 - 11/2017] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [11/2017 - 10/2018] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [10/2018 - 11/2019] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [11/2019 - 09/2020]
- Start the engine.
- Drive the vehicle and turn the steering wheel to the right and left at a speed of 35 km/h (22 mph) and check that no brake control system (steering sensor) DTCs (C1432, C1433 or C1434) are output.

HINT:
When DTCs indicating a CAN communication system malfunction are output, repair the CAN communication system before repairing each corresponding sensor or ECU.

- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

- Check that the steering sensor value changes in accordance with the steering wheel movement.
