DTC P125D-71: Fuel Flow Control Valve Performance Actuator Stuck [09/2015 - 05/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P125D-71) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    5. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P125D-71 is output A
      DTC P125D-71 and other DTCs are output B

      HINT: 

      If any DTCs other than P125D-71 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2015 - 09/2016]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2016 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2017 - 05/2018]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [05/2018 - 05/2019] 

    Result:

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ACTIVATE THE FUEL PRESSURE DISCHARGE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Activate the Fuel Pressure Discharge / Data List / Fuel Pressure (Low).

      Powertrain > Engine > Active Test 

      Active Test Display
      Activate the Fuel Pressure Discharge
      Data List Display
      Fuel Pressure (Low)
    5. Perform the Active Test. Check that the fuel pressure fluctuates.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Fuel pressure fluctuates A
      Fuel pressure does not fluctuate B

  3. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P125D-71) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
    6. Start the engine and warm it up.
    7. Turn the Techstream on.
    8. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / All Readiness.

      Powertrain > Engine > Utility 

      Tester Display
      All Readiness
    10. Input the DTC: P125D-71.
    11. Check the DTC judgment result.
      Techstream Display Description
      NORMAL
      • DTC judgment completed
      • System normal
      ABNORMAL
      • DTC judgment completed
      • System abnormal
      INCOMPLETE
      • DTC judgment not completed
      • Perform driving pattern after confirming DTC enabling conditions
      N/A
      • Unable to perform DTC judgment
      • Number of DTCs which do not fulfill DTC preconditions has reached ECU memory limit

  4. CHECK PRESSURE DISCHARGE VALVE ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION 
    1. Check the pressure discharge valve assembly installation.

      OK

      Pressure discharge valve assembly is installed correctly.

    SECURELY REINSTALL PRESSURE DISCHARGE VALVE ASSEMBLY. Refer to  INSTALLATION [10/2014 - ]

  5. REPLACE PRESSURE DISCHARGE VALVE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the pressure discharge valve assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

  6. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P125D-71) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
    6. Start the engine and warm it up.
    7. Turn the Techstream on.
    8. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / All Readiness.

      Powertrain > Engine > Utility 

      Tester Display
      All Readiness
    10. Input the DTC: P125D-71.
    11. Check the DTC judgment result.

      Result

      (DTC P125D-71 is output)

      (DTCs are not output)

    Result: 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - 05/2019]
