Drive Mode Select Switch Circuit [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check for DTCs.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      CAN communication system DTCs are not output A
      CAN communication system DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING) 

    (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2020 - ] )

    Result: 

    See step  2

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Disconnect the V12 drive mode select switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      V12-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      * a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Drive mode select switch (integration control and panel assembly))

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Inspect drive mode select switch (integration control and panel assembly). to INSPECTION [09/2015 - ] .

      OK

      Drive mode select switch (integration control and panel assembly) is normal.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the V12 drive mode select switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the A38 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A38-34 (PWMS) - Body ground SPORT mode switch being turned and held Below 50 Ω
      A38-34 (PWMS) - Body ground SPORT mode switch not turned 10 kΩ or higher
      A38-49 (SPCN) - Body ground NORMAL mode switch being pushed and held Below 50 Ω
      A38-49 (SPCN) - Body ground NORMAL mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      * a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to ECM)

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
