DTC B265B: Lumbar Support Sensor Circuit [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. DTC output area check
      1. Using the Techstream, determine the area that output the DTC (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2015 - ] ).
        RESULT

        Result Proceed to
        B265B output from driver seat ECU A
        B265B output from passenger seat ECU B

    Result:  B

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (POWER SEAT MOTOR FUNCTION) 
    1. Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the power seat motor function (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2015 - ] ).

  3. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the e77 motor connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      e77-2 (SISR) - e77-3 (PELE) Lumbar switch ON 4.8 to 5.1 V

    Result:  NG

  4. CHECK LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (POSITION CONTROL SENSOR) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      e77-2 (SISR) - Body ground Lumbar switch ON 4.5 to 4.8 V

    Result:  OK

    REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH 

    (Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2015 - ] )

    REPLACE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (LUMBAR MOTOR) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - POWER SEAT MOTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the e46 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the e77 motor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e46-6 (SSLB) - e77-2 (SISR) Always Below 1 Ω
      e46-18 (SGND) - e77-3 (PELE) Always Below 1 Ω
      e46-6 (SSLB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e46-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH 

    (Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2015 - ] )

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. CHECK LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (POWER SEAT MOTOR) 
    1. Remove the lumbar support adjuster assembly LH (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] ).
    2. Inspect the lumbar support adjuster assembly LH (Refer to INSPECTION [09/2015 - ] ).

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPLACE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

    Result:  OK

    OK

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH - POWER SEAT MOTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the e45 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the e77 motor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e45-10 (L+) - e77-5 (H) Always Below 1 Ω
      e45-1 (L-) - e77-6 (R) Always Below 1 Ω
      e45-10 (L+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e45-1 (L-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH 

    (Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2015 - ] )

    Result:  NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (LUMBAR SLIDE) 
    1. Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the power seat motor function (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2015 - ] ).

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH - LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the e20 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the e72 motor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e20-6 (SSLB) - e72-2 (SISR) Always Below 1 Ω
      e20-18 (SGND) - e72-3 (PELG) Always Below 1 Ω
      e20-6 (SSLB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e20-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:  OK

    REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH

  12. CHECK LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH (POWER SEAT MOTOR) 
    1. Remove the lumbar support adjuster assembly RH (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] ).
    2. Inspect the lumbar support adjuster assembly RH (Refer to INSPECTION [09/2015 - ] ).

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPLACE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Disconnect the e18 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the e72 motor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e18-10 (L+) - e72-5 (H1) Always Below 1 Ω
      e18-1 (L-) - e72-6 (R1) Always Below 1 Ω
      e18-10 (L+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e18-1 (L-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:  OK
