Disassembly [04/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column with Steering Lock Actuator Assembly) 
    1. Secure the steering column assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.
      NOTE:

      Do not overtighten the vise.

    2. Using a drill, drill a hole in the steering lock set bolt and insert a screw extractor.
    3. Using the screw extractor, remove the steering lock set bolt and steering lock actuator assembly.

  2. REMOVE STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column with Steering Lock Actuator Assembly) 
    1. Using a drill, drill a hole in each steering lock set bolt and insert a screw extractor.
    2. Using the screw extractor, remove the 2 steering lock set bolts and steering lock actuator assembly.

  3. REMOVE MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU.
