Interior Light Switch Signal Circuit [04/2013 - 09/2020]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Dome Light DOOR SW Door switch signal ON or OFF ON: Door switch pressed
      OFF: Door switch not pressed
      -
      Dome Light SW Front dome light switch signal ON or OFF ON: Front dome light switch pressed
      OFF: Front dome light switch not pressed

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Dome Light DOOR SW
      Dome Light SW

      OK

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

      Result

      Dome Light SW is not normal C

    Result: 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [04/2013 - 09/2020]

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the map light assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 09/2018] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2018 - 09/2020]

    2. Inspect the map light assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2013 - 09/2020]

      OK

      Map light assembly is normal.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LAMP ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 09/2020] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the K1 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S4-18 (DOOR) - K1-27 (DMDR) Always Below 1 Ω
      S3-19 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S4-18 (DOOR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the map light assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 09/2018] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2018 - 09/2020]

    2. Inspect the map light assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2013 - 09/2020]

      OK

      Map light assembly is normal.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 09/2020] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the K1 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S4-19 (CILL) - K1-28 (DMON) Always Below 1 Ω
      S3-19 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      S4-19 (CILL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
