DTC B2416: Height Control Sensor; DTC B241A: Rear Height Control Sensor [10/2016 - 09/2020]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling / Trouble Codes.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > HL AutoLeveling > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > HL AutoLeveling > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B2416 or B241A are not output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2016 - 10/2017]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2017 - 09/2020] 

    Result: 

    NG

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > HL AutoLeveling > Data List

    REPLACE NO. 1 HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2016 - 09/2020]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - NO. 1 HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the r1 No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the g1 rear height control sensor sub-assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      g1-1 (GND) - r1-15 (SGR) Always Below 1 Ω
      g1-2 (OUT) - r1-17 (SHRL) Always Below 1 Ω
      g1-3 (VCC) - r1-16 (SBR) Always Below 1 Ω
      g1-1 (GND) or r1-15 (SGR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      g1-2 (OUT) or r1-17 (SHRL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      g1-3 (VCC) or r1-16 (SBR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. INSPECT REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the rear height control sensor sub-assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 09/2020]

    2. Inspect the rear height control sensor sub-assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2013 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE NO. 1 HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2016 - 09/2020] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - 09/2020]
